Day 1 — God Hears Me
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:12 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.”
What It Means:
You do not have to shout for God to hear you. You can pray quietly under your blanket, in the car, on the playground, or sitting beside someone you love. God hears His children.
Prayer is not a performance. You can speak honestly.
Talk About It:
What is one thing you want to tell God today?
Try This Today:
Say a one-sentence prayer in your own words.
Prayer:
God, thank You for listening to me. Help me remember that I can talk to You anytime. Amen.
Day 2 — I Can Pray About Everything
Scripture: Philippians 4:6 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
What It Means:
God cares about the big things and the small things. You can pray about someone who is sick, a test at school, a toy you lost, a friendship problem, or something exciting that happened.
Nothing is too ordinary to bring to God.
Talk About It:
What is something small that you sometimes forget you can pray about?
Try This Today:
Before asking a grown-up for help with something, first whisper a quick prayer to God.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that I can bring everything to You. Help me remember to pray instead of carrying every worry by myself. Amen.
Day 3 — Jesus Taught Us to Pray
Scripture: Matthew 6:9 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”
What It Means:
Jesus taught His disciples to begin by remembering who God is. He is our Father in heaven, holy and worthy of praise.
Prayer is not only asking for things. We can begin by telling God that we love Him and thanking Him for who He is.
Talk About It:
What is something wonderful about God?
Try This Today:
Start your prayer with three words that describe God, such as loving, good, faithful, strong, or holy.
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, You are good and holy. Thank You for loving me and teaching me how to pray. Amen.
Day 4 — Prayer Can Bring Peace
Scripture: Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
What It Means:
Sometimes your feelings are so big that you do not know what to do with them. Prayer does not always make the problem disappear immediately, but God can give peace while we wait and trust Him.
You can tell Him exactly how you feel.
Talk About It:
When do your feelings feel really big?
Try This Today:
Put your hand over your heart and pray slowly about what you are feeling.
Prayer:
God, You know my heart. Please give me Your peace and help me trust You with what I cannot fix. Amen.
Day 5 — I Can Thank God
Scripture: Psalm 107:1 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
What It Means:
Thanking God helps us notice His goodness. We can thank Him for food, family, friends, sunshine, rain, a safe home, laughter, Scripture, and most of all for Jesus.
Gratitude turns ordinary moments into reminders of God's kindness.
Talk About It:
What are three things you are thankful for today?
Try This Today:
At dinner or bedtime, let everyone name one thing they thank God for.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your goodness. Thank You for the people and gifts You have put in my life. Help me notice Your kindness. Amen.
Day 6 — I Can Pray for Other People
Scripture: James 5:16 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Pray one for another.”
What It Means:
Prayer is not only about us. We can pray for a friend who is sad, a teacher, someone who is sick, missionaries, our church, our family, and even someone we find difficult to get along with.
Praying for others helps our hearts grow in love.
Talk About It:
Who needs prayer today?
Try This Today:
Choose one person's name and pray one simple sentence for them.
Prayer:
God, please help the people I care about. Show me how to love them and remind me to pray for them. Amen.
Day 7 — I Can Keep Talking to God
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Pray without ceasing.”
What It Means:
This does not mean we must close our eyes and pray every second. It means prayer can become a normal part of life. We can talk to God throughout the day.
A short “Thank You, God,” “Help me, Jesus,” or “Please help my friend” can be a real prayer.
Talk About It:
What part of your day could become a regular prayer time?
Try This Today:
Pick one daily activity — brushing your teeth, getting dressed, or bedtime — and make it a reminder to pray.
Prayer:
Father, help prayer become a natural part of my day. I want to remember You in happy moments and hard moments. Amen.
