Day 1 — Love
Scripture: Galatians 5:22 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”
What It Means:
Love is more than saying, “I love you.” Love shows up in what we do.
For a child, love can look like sharing a favorite toy, checking on someone who is hurt, helping without complaining, or making room for another child.
We love because God loved us first.
Talk About It:
Who could you show love to today?
Try This Today:
Do one loving thing without expecting anything back.
Prayer:
God, thank You for loving me. Help Your love show through the way I treat people today. Amen.
Day 2 — Joy
Scripture: Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
What It Means:
Joy is not the same as being happy every second. We can have a hard day and still remember that God is good.
Joy notices gifts — a funny moment, warm food, a hug, a bird outside, a favorite song, or simply a new day God has made.
Talk About It:
What made you smile today?
Try This Today:
Find three little things that bring you joy and thank God for them.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for this day. Help me notice Your goodness even when everything does not go my way. Amen.
Day 3 — Peace
Scripture: John 14:27 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.”
What It Means:
Sometimes peace looks like choosing not to yell when you are frustrated. Sometimes it means taking a breath before responding. Sometimes it means trusting Jesus when you cannot change what is happening.
Jesus gives peace that can help us slow down on the inside.
Talk About It:
When is it hardest for you to stay peaceful?
Try This Today:
The next time you feel upset, pause and count slowly to five before speaking.
Prayer:
Jesus, give me Your peace. Help me slow down and choose gentle words when I am upset. Amen.
Day 4 — Patience
Scripture: Ephesians 4:2 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.”
What It Means:
Waiting can feel very long when you are a child. Maybe someone else has the toy you want, your food is not ready, or it is not your turn yet.
Patience does not mean you enjoy waiting. It means you learn to wait without hurting people or demanding your own way.
Talk About It:
What is really hard for you to wait for?
Try This Today:
When you have to wait, practice saying, “I can wait kindly.”
Prayer:
God, waiting is hard sometimes. Help me grow in patience and treat people kindly while I wait. Amen.
Day 5 — Kindness
Scripture: Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
What It Means:
Kindness often shows up in small moments. You can use a gentle voice, help clean up, invite someone to play, or forgive someone who said sorry.
Kindness is powerful because it makes people feel seen and cared for.
Talk About It:
Who might need extra kindness today?
Try This Today:
Give someone a kind word that you really mean.
Prayer:
Father, make my words and actions kind. Help me notice people who need encouragement. Amen.
Day 6 — Goodness
Scripture: Psalm 34:8 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
What It Means:
God is good. As we know Him, He teaches us to choose what is good too.
Goodness can look like telling the truth even when you might get in trouble, returning something that is not yours, or helping someone because it is right.
Talk About It:
What is one good choice you made recently?
Try This Today:
If you have a choice between what is easy and what is right, ask God to help you choose what is right.
Prayer:
God, You are good. Help me love what is good and make choices that please You. Amen.
Day 7 — Faithfulness
Scripture: Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
What It Means:
Faithfulness means being dependable and keeping on doing what is right. God is perfectly faithful. He does not wake up one morning and stop being good.
We can grow in faithfulness by keeping promises, finishing responsibilities, telling the truth, and being someone others can trust.
Talk About It:
What is one responsibility you can be faithful with?
Try This Today:
Do one job you are responsible for without being reminded.
Prayer:
Faithful God, thank You that You never stop being good. Help me become someone who can be trusted too. Amen.
