Day 1 — God Watches Over My Day
Scripture: Psalm 121:8 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
What It Means:
Think about everywhere you went today — maybe school, daycare, the grocery store, Grandma's house, the backyard, or just from room to room. God was not confused about where you were.
As you get ready to sleep, you can remember that the God who cared for you through the day is still God through the night.
Talk About It:
What was your favorite part of today? What was the hardest part?
Try This Today:
Tell God one happy thing and one hard thing from your day before you sleep.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being with me through this day. Help me rest tonight knowing that You are still near. Amen.
Day 2 — When I Am Afraid, I Can Trust God
Scripture: Psalm 56:3 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”
What It Means:
The Bible does not say, “I never feel afraid.” It says, “When I am afraid, I will trust.” Fear can happen, and we can still choose to turn toward God.
Maybe you are afraid of the dark, a bad dream, a strange noise, or something that happened earlier. You can tell God.
Talk About It:
What sometimes feels scary at bedtime?
Try This Today:
Say Psalm 56:3 together three times, slowly.
Prayer:
God, sometimes I feel afraid. When fear comes, help me remember that I can trust You. Amen.
Day 3 — Jesus Gives Rest
Scripture: Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
What It Means:
Sometimes your body is tired but your mind keeps thinking. Jesus invites tired people to come to Him.
At bedtime, you can imagine putting the heavy things from your day into Jesus' hands — mistakes, worries, disappointments, and questions.
Talk About It:
Is there anything from today that feels heavy inside?
Try This Today:
Name one heavy thought and say, “Jesus, I give this to You.”
Prayer:
Jesus, I am tired and I need Your rest. Help my body and mind become quiet as I trust You. Amen.
Day 4 — I Can Sleep in Peace
Scripture: Psalm 4:8 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”
What It Means:
Sleep is one way our bodies receive the rest God designed them to need. We cannot control everything while we sleep, and that can feel strange. But bedtime can become a practice of trust.
We rest because we are not God — and we do not have to be.
Talk About It:
What helps you feel peaceful before bed?
Try This Today:
Turn off one noisy distraction a few minutes early and read this verse together.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for rest. Help me lie down peacefully and trust You with the things I cannot control tonight. Amen.
Day 5 — The Lord Is My Shepherd
Scripture: Psalm 23:1 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
What It Means:
Sheep need a shepherd to guide, feed, and watch over them. David said the Lord was his Shepherd.
You do not have to know everything about tomorrow. Your Shepherd already knows the way.
Talk About It:
What do you think a good shepherd does for sheep?
Try This Today:
Hug a stuffed animal or pillow and remember how gently a shepherd cares for his flock.
Prayer:
Lord, be my Shepherd. Guide me, care for me, and help me trust You with tomorrow. Amen.
Day 6 — God Sends Help According to His Will
Scripture: Psalm 91:11 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
What It Means:
The Bible shows that angels serve God and carry out His purposes. This verse reminds us that God's care is greater than what we can see.
It does not mean God's children will never experience sickness, accidents, or hard things. It means we belong to a God who sees what we cannot see and whose care does not stop when life is difficult.
Talk About It:
Why is it comforting to know that God sees more than we do?
Try This Today:
Before sleeping, thank God for one way He cared for you today.
Prayer:
God, thank You that Your care is bigger than what I can see. Help me trust Your wisdom and Your presence tonight. Amen.
Day 7 — God Is With Me
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
Full Scripture (KJV):
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.”
What It Means:
At the end of this week, remember the biggest truth of this plan: God is with His people.
You may still have nights when you need a hug, a night-light, or a parent beside you. Needing comfort does not mean you have failed to trust God. We can receive comfort from the people God has given us and keep learning to trust Him.
Talk About It:
Which verse from this week do you want to remember most?
Try This Today:
Ask a parent or caregiver to pray a blessing over you before sleep.
Prayer:
God, thank You for being with me. Help me rest in Your love and wake up ready for a new day with You. Amen.
