What It Means

God knows that we face temptations, fears, lies, and things that try to pull us away from Him. He tells us to put on His whole armour so that we can stand strong. Just like a soldier wears armour for protection, God gives us spiritual armour. The rest of Ephesians 6 tells us about truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the gospel of peace, and the Word of God. We do not have to fight in our own strength. God gives us what we need to stand firm and follow Him.

Think About It

When something tempts you to do what is wrong, what can help you remember God's truth and choose what is right?

Activity

Draw a person wearing armour. Label some of the pieces with words from Ephesians 6 such as: Truth — Righteousness — Peace — Faith — Salvation — Word of God Put your picture somewhere you will see it and remember: God helps me stand strong.

Prayer

Dear God, thank You for giving me Your armour. Help me know Your truth, trust You, obey Your Word, and stand strong when I am tempted to do what is wrong. Help me remember that You are with me and that I do not have to depend on my own strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
