Lord, Let Me Walk in the Freedom of Your Word

November 2, 2026Psalm 119:45By Paul

God’s mercy and salvation give me courage to trust His Word. As I seek His precepts, I can walk in freedom, speak without shame, and delight in His commandments.

“And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.”
— Psalm 119:45 (KJV)

Over these days, I have noticed how often the psalmist asks God to help him understand and love His Word. Today he begins by asking for God’s mercies and salvation according to His promise. He puts his hope in what the Lord has said.

Then he says something I love: “And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.” God’s Word does not leave him trapped. As he seeks the Lord’s ways, he can walk in freedom.

He also says he will speak of God’s testimonies before kings and will not be ashamed. I sometimes hesitate to speak of what I believe because I worry about how others will respond. His example encourages me to trust God’s truth and honour Him openly, with humility and courage.

The psalmist does not sound reluctant. He loves God’s commandments, delights in them, lifts up his hands to them, and meditates on His statutes. His eagerness challenges me. I want more than occasional attention to Scripture; I want it to shape how I live and speak.

Lord, thank You for Your mercy. Help me seek Your Word, walk in the freedom You give, and live without shame as I honour You.

Reflection

Where am I afraid or ashamed to speak of God's truth? How can I seek His Word and walk freely in it today?

Prayer

Lord, let Your mercies come to me according to Your Word. Help me trust Your promises, speak of Your truth without shame, and walk in the freedom of obedience. Teach me to love and meditate on Your commandments each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
