Lord, Help Me Bring My Troubles into Your Presence

October 22, 2026Psalm 114:7By Paul

The sea fled and the mountains trembled at the presence of the Lord. The same mighty God welcomes us to bring Him our daily worries, trusting Him to make a way, provide what we need, and strengthen us to follow Him.

As I read Psalm 114 today, its questions caught my attention. Sea, why did you flee? Jordan, why did you turn back? Mountains, why did you skip like rams, and hills like lambs?

Then comes the answer: the presence of the Lord.

The sea and the river could not stand in the way when God led His people through. The mountains, which seem so strong and immovable, trembled before Him. His people were not making a way by their own strength. God was leading them.

Yesterday, Psalm 113 reminded me how great our God is. He is so high that He “humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth.” Yet this majestic God notices the poor and lifts the needy. Today, Psalm 114 reminds me what happens in His presence: creation responds, and obstacles yield to Him.

What an encouragement for the troubles I carry each day. The worries, responsibilities, and little headaches can feel overwhelming. Sometimes I spend more time thinking about them than bringing them to the Lord.

But the God who made a way through the sea is the God I can approach. Through Jesus Christ, His grace and mercy invite me to come near. I do not have to face everything in my own strength.

This does not mean every difficulty will disappear immediately. But no difficulty is greater than Him. He can remove an obstacle, provide what I need, or strengthen me to walk through what I cannot yet understand. Even the rock in this psalm became a source of water at His command.

Today, I want to bring my troubles into His presence. Before I let worry fill my thoughts, I want to remember who my God is.

The sea moved before Him. My circumstances are not beyond His power or His care.

Reflection

What worry am I carrying today that I need to bring before the Lord?

Prayer

Lord, You are great, and all creation trembles before You. Yet in Your mercy, You welcome me into Your presence. Forgive me for carrying my worries as though I must handle everything alone. Help me bring every concern to You and trust Your wisdom, Your timing, and Your power. Make a way according to Your will, and give me strength to follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
