7 Days of Peace

By Paul

Day 1 — God Is With You

Scripture: Psalm 23:1–4 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Explanation:
Peace begins with remembering that God is present. Difficult circumstances may remain, but we do not face them alone. The Shepherd who leads us also stays near in the valley.

Reflection: Where do I most need to remember God’s presence today?

Prayer: Lord, help me become more aware of Your presence. When I feel uncertain, remind me that You are near and faithful. Amen.

Day 2 — Be Still

Scripture: Psalm 46:1–10 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Explanation:
We often respond to stress by trying harder to control everything. Scripture invites us to stop striving and recognize that God remains sovereign even when life feels unsettled.

Reflection: What am I trying to control instead of entrusting to God?

Prayer: Father, quiet my heart. Help me release what I cannot control and trust Your wisdom and strength. Amen.

Day 3 — Give God Your Worries

Scripture: 1 Peter 5:6–7 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Explanation:
God does not ask us to carry anxiety by ourselves. Prayer becomes an act of surrender when we name our worries and place them into His hands.

Reflection: What specific worry can I give to God today?

Prayer: Lord, I give You the concerns I have been carrying. Help me trust that You care for me deeply. Amen.

Day 4 — Peace in the Storm

Scripture: Mark 4:35–41 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Explanation:
Jesus did not prevent every storm His disciples faced, but He was with them in the boat. His presence gives courage when circumstances feel overwhelming.

Reflection: What storm am I currently facing with Jesus?

Prayer: Jesus, stay at the center of my thoughts when life feels chaotic. Help me trust You in the middle of the storm. Amen.

Day 5 — Guard Your Mind

Scripture: Philippians 4:6–9 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Explanation:
What we repeatedly think about shapes our emotions and choices. Prayer, gratitude, and truth help redirect an anxious mind toward God.

Reflection: What truth about God do I need to focus on today?

Prayer: Father, guard my mind from fear and help me dwell on what is true, good, and worthy of praise. Amen.

Day 6 — Rest for the Weary

Scripture: Matthew 11:28–30 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Explanation:
Jesus welcomes people who are tired and burdened. Spiritual rest does not always mean fewer responsibilities; often it means carrying them with Christ instead of carrying them alone.

Reflection: What burden have I been carrying for too long?

Prayer: Jesus, teach me to receive Your rest. Help me walk closely with You instead of carrying everything in my own strength. Amen.

Day 7 — Walk in His Peace

Scripture: John 14:25–27 (KJV)

Full Scripture (KJV):
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Explanation:
The peace Jesus gives is deeper than comfortable circumstances. It is rooted in His presence, promises, and faithfulness.

Reflection: How can I carry Christ’s peace into the coming week?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let Your peace shape my thoughts, words, and choices. Help me become a peaceful presence to others as I follow You. Amen.
